Our Minor Civils Team: Fencing Installation
13 February 2024
Bagnalls Minor Civils division, based in the Midlands, is proud to have installed 100 metres of palisade fencing at a school in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire. The fencing will help make the school a safer and more secure place for children to study.
Our team began by removing areas of overgrown vegetation. We also felled a three-metre-high tree stump and worked to grind the stump to 300mm below surface level. This gave us a clear route for the installation of the fencing.
We then cut the tree stump into sections and placed them beneath a nearby tree as a habitat pile – we hope that local creatures will make this pile their home and the children will be able to study their behaviour.
Our operatives excavated the post holes to give the palisade fencing a good, strong foundation and installed a pedestrian access gate to provide increased security for the school.
The entire project took around one week to complete. Our team carried out the work during the school holidays to ensure that the safety of the staff and students was not impacted by the site traffic travelling to and from the site.
We hope everyone at the school feels more safe and secure, thanks to the new fencing.
