An Artistic Interchange In Coventry
01 June 2021
May 2021 marks the start of Coventry’s year as the UK’s City of Culture. City-wide transformations are taking place including a refresh of the Pool Meadow Bus Interchange in the centre of Coventry.
Bagnalls were commissioned to refresh the walls, steelwork and communal areas prior to a specialist mural company adding an iconic fresco celebrating the hard-working people of the city. The painting works are part of a £1.5m revamp funded by The West Midlands Combined Authority. Bagnalls worked in split shifts to achieve the refresh programme, working evenings off scissor lifts to paint the red steelwork and by day painting the lower levels. Bagnalls site team worked closely with the Bus station management to ensure safe passage for all the buses and coaches and the general public. All works were undertaken to an Akzo Nobel specification and completed in the timescale required.
