Bagnalls Redecorates Thorpe Park!
31 July 2024
Bagnalls was honoured to receive a recent commission from Thorpe Park to redecorate the Angry Birds Land attraction area. Our team helped to redesign and redecorate the internal cinema floor, as well as the railings and associated steelwork at the main entrance bridge.
All work was completed out of season, during the winter period, while Thorpe Park was closed to the public. The project took eleven weeks to complete and our team of painters worked alongside several other trades who were also carrying out essential maintenance work.
Our team undertook various masonry and timber repairs to bring all areas up to a paintable standard. We accessed all areas safely using a combination of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), aluminium towers and scaffolding.
Pliolite masonry paint (a solvent-based exterior paint) was used on all surfaces to provide the long-term protection required and prevent potential delays due to the cold and rain. Bright colours were chosen by the customer and used throughout. Once applied, these colours instantly transformed the buildings and heightened their appeal as attractions at the park.
The railings were decorated in Rustoleum combi-colour, while Watco Safety Grip was used to provide the cinema floor with the level of slip resistance required by the client.
We also employed a specialist cleaning subcontractor to help clean a protruding shark’s tail featured in one of the buildings – not something you come across very often!
